Role Overview:
The Medical Care Coordinator compassionately coordinates care for injured workers ensuring timely treatment, handling all inquiries including scheduling and managing appointments and issue resolution. The coordinator is responsible for ensuring treatment is managed throughout the duration of the referral.
Role Responsibilities:
- Ensure treatment is appropriately planned, scheduled and managed from initial evaluation through treatment completion.
- Serves as primary contact for medical offices, adjusters, nurse case managers, and claimants.
- Accurately enters treatment plans and sends pricing review.
- Schedules appointments for approved treatment promptly.
- Prioritizes daily activities to ensure all assignments are completed.
- Reviews and responds to requests from clients, providers, claimants, or management in a timely manner.
- Educate provider offices on required documentation submission – chart notes, billing forms andrequired state specific forms.
- Obtains all missing required appointment documentation from providers.
- When unable to resolve an issue, will escalate to appropriate leadership/management.
- Engage with management regarding potential process and system enhancement
- recommendations.
- May be required to assist with the testing of system/process enhancements.
- Other duties as assigned
Role Qualifications:
- Ability to work well individually and in a team environment
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
- Analytical ability with adept research skills
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
- Must be able to multi-task, follow procedures and have active listening skills
- Bi-lingual is a plus
- Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Outlook and all MSOffice essentials
- Must be able to adhere to company’s physical & information security standards along with training requirements
- Medical Assistant or equivalent preferred
- Experience with Medical Software Platforms is a plus
- Contact Center experience a plus
- High School Diploma or GED
